Access and Use
The Hyman Spotnitz Archives are available for use by CMPS scholars and by outside researchers. Use of the Archives materials is by appointment only. Specific materials will be retrieved after the researcher identifies them using the finding aid.
Requests for information made by mail, email, or phone will be handled as time permits and in the order received.
Archival materials are subject to the following policies:
- All materials must be viewed on the premises.
- Anyone wishing to use the Archives must fill out an application
- A valid ID will be held until materials are returned.
- Materials cannot be photocopied or electronically reproduced.
- Use pencil only when making notes.
- Do not deface the items in any way (writing on, folding pages, etc.).
- Keep archival materials in the order received. Do not rearrange pages.
- Use care when handling books or folders as pages may be fragile and brittle.
Restrictions
Use of certain items may be restricted by law, CMPS policy, or donor stipulation. Consult the Terms of Use for further details. CMPS reserves the right to restrict access to items when usage poses a threat to the physical integrity of the items. Those items will be returned to active use after appropriate preservation actions have been taken, if feasible.
